Mount Gilgal

Concept vision

A small city designed around access, purpose, and connection.

The long-term vision is an approximately 100-acre, walkable and self-sustaining place where homes, learning, work, care, and everyday life exist together.

This artwork is an artistic expression of the future Mount Gilgal site. It is not an architectural rendering, site plan, or representation of finalized buildings.

Built in phases. Held by one clear idea.

Accessibility should not be an accommodation added at the end. At Mount Gilgal, it is intended to shape the place from the beginning.

Residents, visitors, teachers, families, entrepreneurs, and retired tradespeople will share one connected environment—giving priority to people with intellectual and physical disabilities while welcoming everyone.

At full scale.

Over decades, as each phase is realized, Mount Gilgal is envisioned to grow into something more complete. At full scale, the built-out community could also include:

  • On-site lodging in a boutique hotel, also envisioned as a source of revenue for the community
  • An accessible amusement park with rides, built for people of all abilities
  • A sports complex — football and soccer fields, basketball courts — capable of hosting groups such as Special Olympics teams training for World Games
  • Horse stables for therapy and recreational riding lessons
  • Hiking trails through the property's natural landscape
  • A life-skills simulation town for children and the public — a mini grocery store, a fire department, and similar everyday-life scenarios that teach young people how to navigate the world
  • A gas station
  • On-site electric transit, with Volkswagen ID. Buzz shuttles moving visitors from parking to the grounds
  • A Christian, non-denominational church at the physical heart of the community

None of this exists today. These are long-term aspirations—imagined over decades of patient, phased growth, shaped by need, resources, and the community itself.

"For he was [waiting expectantly and confidently] looking forward to the city which has foundations, [an eternal, heavenly city] whose architect and builder is God."
